Fifty one people who started olanzapine treatment within the previous 12 weeks. Participants had schizophrenia (n = 16), schizoaffective disorder (n = 12), schizophreniform psychosis (n = 10), bipolar disorder (n = 8), or depression (n = 5). Exclusion criteria: metabolic disorders; body mass index >35; diabetes; current or previous eating disorder or alcohol/substance abuse.
