What are the risk and protective factors for psychological, emotional and behavioural disorders among forcibly displaced children in low-and middle-income countries?
Internalising or emotional problems (ie, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)); externalising or behavioural problems.
Medline, Scopus, PsycINFO, Embase, Web of Science and Cochrane databases were searched between January 1980 and July 2010. Reference and citations lists of published works were also searched, as were grey literature and the review authors' databases.
Study selection and analysis
Quantitative studies of risk and protective factors, mental health problems in displaced or refugee children in low- or middle-income host country settings were included. Studies with participants above the age of 18 were included if no participants were above the age of 25, and the sample average age was ≤18 years. A minimum sample size of 25 participants was used.
