Adolescents with SSRI-resistant depression: CBT plus antidepressant switch more effective than medication switch alone
B. Dubicka
Evid Based Ment Health 2008 11: 110.

web only notes 11/4/110

Blinding was compromised in 64 cases, usually because the participant disclosed their CBT status to the assessor. There was no treatment group that did not involve medication switch, so the study cannot assess the effects of CBT in the absence of treatment switch. Use of paroxetine was stopped midway through the trial due to concerns about its efficacy and safety; only three patients were actively taking paroxetine at this time and they were removed from the study. Citalopram was substituted for paroxetine from this point.
