No long-lasting effects of classroom-based cognitive behavioural and interpersonal prevention programmes on depressive symptoms in adolescents

Notes

Not all participants in this RCT were randomised. Within each wellness class participants were randomly assigned using a random number list to the three groups, but if there were more than 15 students per intervention group then the remainder of students were allocated to the control group. It was unclear how many participants were allocated in this way. In two classes there were fewer than 15 students, and in these cases the whole class was randomly assigned to a group. The three groups did not differ significantly in age, gender, race or depressive symptoms at baseline but may not have been balanced for other potential confounders because of the methods used.
